Who We Are Southeastern Barber College is a licensed institution established to continue the legacy of Elizabeth B. Smith, a dedicated cosmetology instructor who served her community in the late 1950s and 60s. Her vision was to economically empower individuals by teaching valuable vocational skills—a mission we continue today.
Her grandson, James W. Smith, carries on this tradition. An alumnus of Alliance University and a Master Barber with thirty years of experience, James serves as one of several instructors at the college and was mentored by some of the top instructors in the area. He is joined by his wife, Carestsa Smith, a skilled professional and entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience.
